FOREST of Dean Motor Club’s popular rally time trial returns to the calendar after a years sabbatical this weekend.
The club would also like to welcome Richard Cole Contracting as its title sponsor for 2015.
The event will be held in Sweet Lamb this Sunday the 4th October and offer competitors six stages totalling approximately 26 miles.
The event is also a round of the Gwynnespeed C2 Challenge, which will see three Forest drivers Ross Leach, Jack Walby and Mark Christopher doing battle.
Leading entries include 2013 victor Bob Morgan and his Skoda Fabia, Richard Ceen in the Focus WRC, Martyn England with the Mitsubishi Evo 10, Nigel Drew in his Subaru Impreza, Terry Brown with the Escort RS1800 and Geriant Mills driving his Manta 400.
The first car away is at 9.45am and spectators are very welcome.
“After deciding not to run the event in 2014, people were asking us to reorganise it this year, as its proved popular with competitors in the past,” said event coordinator Paul Willetts.
“Its a good relaxed fun days motorsport aimed at not only the established competitors but newcomers, not only to the sport, but to those who want to try gravel for the first time. It’s also an ideal opportunity to take a family member, mechanic or sponsor for a ride”.
“The club would like to thank Richard Cole for supporting the event, he’s always enjoyed motorsport and comes from a long rallying family, and he’s just started driving himself.
“We’d also like to thank all our stage and award sponsors, but we’d also like to thank our previous sponsors Rob Ged & Ross Weir of Weir Laundry Equipment for their tremendous support over the previous years.”
Marshalls for the event are also urgently needed. Contact chief Marshal Cliff Davies via the fodmc website for information. For all event details go to www.fodmc.co.uk
